The 2014 GG LED annual conference was held on Dec. 12-13 at Guanlanhu, Shenzhen. At the conference on the theme of “Industrial Strategy”, Bian Difei, Vice President of HC Semitek, delivered a report entitled “Must adapt to the changing needs of the terminal market for chips”. He stresses chip manufacturers badly need to pursue the idea of being oriented to market demand and carrying out continuous innovation based on customer needs.
At the meeting, Mr. Bian said that since the first half of this year, the downstream application market has growing demand, the performance of Chinese LED chips gradually improves, and midstream packaging companies having a growing demand for domestically produced chips. “The capacity utilization rate that has remained sluggish in the past two years almost reaches saturation, but it still cannot meet demand. It is in this context that chip companies usher in a period of new growth.”
“We only do what we are most capable of, and epitaxial chip manufacturing is our strength.” Mr. Bian pointed out that the six segments including high luminous efficiency, low cost, and design are the future development trends of LED applications. Upstream support is indispensable for the downstream companies. Chips are the most complex on the LED industry chain technologically. To adapt to the changing trend of the terminal market demand holds the key to development.
During the same period, HC Semitek won the nomination award for the “Golden Globe Award” for “Yi” serial high-voltage chips.
With a focus on “chips”, HC Semitek will continue to innovate and meet market demand and customer needs.
