On Mar. 7, 2019, Chen Dong, a Deputy Head of the United Front Work Department of Yiwu, along with his delegation, visited HC Semitek (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. for a survey.
The delegation firstly was shown to HC Semitek Party Member and Mass Service Center, and proposed to establish the practice and innovation base for new social classes in a subsequent panel discussion. HC Semitek (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., located in Yiwu Information and Optoelectronics High-Tech Zone, is a sub-company of HC Semitek, the No.2 LED chips supplier in China. With an increasing number of high-end talents gathering at HC Semitek, all conditions are ready for establishing this practice and innovation base for new social classes.
HC Semitek expressed concerns over the inactive response of high-end talents, represented by doctorate degree holders, to the calls on involvement in establishing the base. Mr. Chen expressed unequivocal opposition to formalism and was determined to do "substantial" jobs; Mr. Chen also advised that high-end talents, represented by doctorate degree holders, should play a leading role in planning for relevant activities, with the government providing the backup support, to attract more talents to participate; Mr. Chen recommended to diversify the activities after determining in which areas to unfold these activities, including contact and communications, offering advice, and public welfare activities.
The practice and innovation base for new social classes is an explorative job that can complement with party member activities and work union activities. This base is designed to help high-end talents better mix into Yiwu and allow the government to better serve them, so that they can identify with the values of Yiwu and feel more at home. The initiative of building up this base allows us to practice, make innovation, and learn how to transform the base into an important site where high-end talents can get involved in activities, be better served, give proposals, and make new contributions.
