Dr. Wang Jiangbo, assistant to the President of HC Semitek and R&D Manager, was awarded the medal at the Sixth “Wuhan Youth May Fourth Medal” at the commemorative ceremony of the 92nd anniversary of the May 4th Movement in Wuhan and the commendation ceremony of the 6th “Wuhan Youth May Fourth Medal” held at Wuhan Theatre on Apr. 29.
Dr. Wang graduated from Peking University and obtained his doctorate from Arizona State University. He had worked in the US for many years. He has been committed to the R&D of high-brightness and high-efficiency blue and light semiconductor LED; and research on the optoelectronic characteristics of III-nitride materials and related light-emitting devices. His research achievements include 17 papers published on well-known index journals at home and abroad, 46 conference abstracts and anthologies, and memorandum for 5 patents and inventions. After joining HC Semitek, Dr. Wang is responsible for product research and development. He has achieved outstanding achievements for his bold explorations in the areas of R&D concept innovation, building of R&D team, and inspiring staff vitality. He was included in the “3551 Talents Program” by East Lake High-tech Management Zone. Dr. Wang is enthusiastically involved in public welfare despite his busy work. He joined Optics Valley of China Ph.D. Volunteer Service Group to offer suggestions for the service group. For the Optics Valley Fourth Primary School, he takes part in after-school activities to stimulate students’ interest in learning.
“Wuhan Youth May Fourth Medal” is the highest accolade awarded to the youths in Wuhan by the Wuhan Municipal Committee of Communist Youth League and Wuhan Youth Federation. Selected every two years, it has been held for six consecutive years since 2000. The “Wuhan Youth May Fourth Medal” is awarded to a total of 35 outstanding young people from different industries in Wuhan. Dr. Wang is the only winner of this award at East Lake High-tech Development Zone this year.
